This page contains links to a tentative listing of active and closed TEC Task Plans. Final status of these task plans will be determined after the July 2000 TEC meeting.

DOE published a Revised Proposed Policy and Procedures in April 1998; no final policy will be issued until a definitive date for NWPA shipments is determined, based on site suitability or other legislative direction. To the extent that any issues related to Section 180(c) arise in TEC meetings, they are being discussed in the context of the consolidated grant topic group which is covered by another task plan.

TO-3, Tribal Pre-notification Policy

At meeting in February 2000, NRC announced issuance of an Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPRM) to address issue of advance notification to tribes under federal regulation, as is required for states, prior to shipment of certain radioactive materials. Given the ANPRM has been issued and NRC is moving toward resolution of this issue, no further action by TEC is required.

All activities contemplated in the task plan are essentially complete; CVSA participates in TEC and keeps participants informed of developments. Task plan no longer required. According to updates, should have been closed 7/99.

TO-19, Tribal Authority over Rail Inspection (begun 7/93)

FRA’s Office of General Counsel has issued a legal memorandum addressing this issue. TEC members will be briefed on this memorandum at the July 2000 meeting. No further action by TEC is required.
